The Santander Chair of Family-run Business offers guidance on the Mexican market

​The University of Cantabria (UC) Santander Chair of Family-run Business has held the technical seminar entitled "Practical Ideas about how to search for contacts and funds for implementation in Mexico".

The session, held on December 17, was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, Begoña Torre, the President of ACEFAM, Mar Gomez-Casuso, and the Director of the Department of Administration of Companies at the UC, and the Chair of Image and International Projection, Ángel Herrero. According to the organizers, it had a "great reception" with the participation of representatives of 18 companies in the Association of Family-run Business (ACEFAM).

The lawyer and coordinator of the Mexico node of the Enterprise Europe Network, Maria Paz Diaz, and Vicente Alciturri, Manager of the Cantabrian Family-run Company Semicrol, whose travels in Mexico began five years ago. Both speakers emphasised that Mexico is attractive due to its extensive area but also because it is an open market with an important level of growth and is very close to the United States.

Five years betting on Family Businesses

The University of Cantabria (UC) Santander Chair of Family-run Business, integrated within the network of Chairs of Family-run Business, was created in 2008 on the initiative Institute of Family-run Business (IEF) and the Cantabrian Association for Family-run Companies (ACEFAM) with the collaboration of Santander Bank.

The Santander Chair of Family-run Business, led by María Concepción López Fernández, lecturer of Company Organization, has as its objective the analysis, research and teaching of the problems and perspectives of family-run business from all the points of view considered relevant.
