The University of Cantabria establishes connections with Chinese universities

Delegates from the University of Sichuan visit the University of Cantabria and sign an agreement to make mobility easier for students and lecturers between China and Cantabria

The University of Cantabria (UC) received a visit, both yesterday and today, from the lecturers Min Gong and Hong Zhang, Dean and Associate Dean respectively in the Faculty of Science and Physical Technology at the University of Sichuan, positioned among the ten best universities in China. The visit culminated with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the two institutions, mainly in the field of Physics where they are both strong, for the development of academic and scientific activities.

The object of this meeting, which was promoted by the Faculty of Sciences and the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, was for Asian emissaries to know first-hand the University of Cantabria and the signing of an agreement that will make exchanges easier for students and teachers, as well as common scientific work. There is already a scientific collaboration in the field of organic electronics and high pressures.

Professor Hong Zhang, taught the seminar "A first-principles investigation on the interaction between laser and ultrafast nano-materials" today, within the framework of the cycle of lectures in Physics and Science of Materials and Nanotechnology in the Department of Earth Sciences and Condensed Matter Physics (CITIMAC).

During these two intense days, representatives from the University of Sichuan have visited the Faculty of Sciences and in addition, they have also met the research groups in Modern and Applied Physics and Physics of New Materials and their laboratories, the UC Language Center (CIUC) and the Institute of Physics in Cantabria (Joint UC and CSIC Center).
