Piero Crespo received the research grant of the Fundación AECC

IBBTEC scientist Piero Crespo has received last week a research ​grant in amount of 1,2 million of euros, from the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, destinated to his studies in thyroid cancer. Ph.D. Crespo coordinates a group involved in thyroid cancer research, composed also by Ph.D. Pilar Santisteban Sanz, from the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas Alberto Sols (Madrid) and Ph. D. Garcilaso Riesco Eizaguirre, from the Hospital Universitario de Móstoles (Madrid). This collaborative project is focused on the study of RAS, the most frequent oncogene in human cancers, being detected in approximately 30% of human tumours.

The event was presided by the Queen Letizia, and took place in wednesday 17th of september, in the Victoria Eugenia theater, in San Sebastián.
