Enrolment

To enrol in a course, you must send us:

  • The correctly filled-in enrolment form
  • 1 passport/I.D. size photograph
  • A photocopy of the passport or identity card
  • A cheque or proof of payment (the bank paying-in slip) of course fees made out to the University of Cantabria. Payment should be made into account number IBAN-ES55-0049.5400.41.2811024156 of the bank Santander, Swift Code: BSCHESMM, Paseo de Pereda 11, Santander (Spain) payable to UC-CIUC Cursos de Español para Extranjeros.

Enrolment Deadline

7 days prior to start of course.

Those students that require a visa to enter Spain are advised to bear in mind that non-obtention of a visa is not grounds for reimbursement. A copy of the visa should be attached to requests for a refund

Deductions

Those who have been enrolled on a 60-hour Spanish course will be entitled to a 20% discount on the enrollment fees for any subsequent Spanish courses they take.

Places

Groups on which fewer than 8 people enrol may be cancelled.

If for health reasons face-to-face tuition cannot be started/continued, classes will go on-line using one of the available platforms (Teams, Skype, Zoom, Jitsi, etc.). Students will therefore need to have an Internet connection and a suitable device so as to be able to follow the course.

Reimbursement

Students who cancel their enrolment on these courses owing to justifiable and duly attested reasons will be entitled to reimbursement of the amount paid, less 60% of the total enrolment fees provided that withdrawal takes place at least 30 days prior to the course starting date.

Those who cancel their enrolment at a later date will be entitled to reimbursement of the amount paid, less the enrolment fees as long as cancellation is due to good reasons that are duly attested.

Once the course has begun, those enrolled on it will not be entitled to any reimbursement.

On no account will changing from face-to-face to online tuition for health reasons be considered a justifiable reason.

Certificates

All students who attend a minimum of 80% of course classes will be entitled to an attendance certificate.

At the end of each course those students who are interested may take a sufficiency test which, if passed, will entitle them to a certificate of progress, on which the grades obtained will appear.

Additional certificates that students request will be charged for at the official rates in force when the request is made.

Other information

All students must have valid health insurance coverage. Those European Union citizens holding European health card are entitled to medical assistance offered by the Spanish National Health System.

The minimum age limit to enrol in the courses is 16. Those students who have not yet come of age must submit a required parental or tutor's authorisation along with the enrolment form.
