SCoPE – System Co-simulation and performance estimation

  • Número de Registro: 119
  • Fecha de Registro: 16-06-2011
  • Tipo: Programa de Ordenador
  • Resumen: SCoPE is a tool specially oriented to the first steps of development in the design process. This system is a simulation framework that extends, without modifying, the standard language SystemC to perform system simulation. On the one hand, it simulates C/C++ software code, supporting three different operating system interfaces (POSIX, uC/OS and Win32). On the other hand, it simulates the software code together with the hardware components of the system described in SystemC. SCoPE analyzes the binary code to extract the time and power information required to instrument the source code of the application software. The resulting models enable the simulation time to be decreased several orders of magnitude respect to virtualization or ISS alternatives, while maintaining a good accuracy. SCoPE simulation infrastructure provides a complete set of facilities for fast modeling of complex embedded systems. SCoPE allows modeling from simple systems composed of a processor a bus and a memory to MpSoC with NoC systems. Designers can use these simulations for functional purposes, developing and checking the correct behavior of the system components, or for performance evaluation, obtaining information about delays, resource use, power consumption, cache efficiency, bus or network traffic, temperature increase, etc.
