RESEARCH
He has a broad interest in Medieval Urban History and he is especially interested in:
- Port societies, Maritime history and Globalization in the Middle Ages
- Power, Social conflict and communication in the Medieval cities
- Gender and LGBTQi+ History in Medieval Kingdom of Castile
- Naval War in Medieval Atlantic.
Currently, he is co-director of the project "BARMER. Del barco al mercado. Actividad económica, relaciones sociales y conflictos armados en las ciudades y villas portuarias de la Europa Atlántica bajomedieval” (PID2020-118105GBI00), funded by Spanish Research Agency.
He has published on the development of the political culture of the Commons in Northern Iberia, the social exclusion in the Medieval cities of the Kingdom of Castile, the Ports and the first Globalization, and he is currently writing a book on Port and Maritime history in Medieval Europe.
