Basic competences
Have and understand knowledge that can provide a base or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context
Students should know how to apply their acquired knowledge and ability to problem-solving in new or little known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.
Students should be able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgement from information that is incomplete or limited, including reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities related to applying their knowledge and judgment.
Students know how to communicate their findings, latest knowledge and reasons supporting them, to a specialised and non-specialised public in a clear and unambiguous way.
Students should have learning skills which allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.
General competences
Ability to integrate effectively in a work group and work in a team, sharing available information and integrating their activity in the group activity, collaborating actively in the attainment of common objectives.
Capacity for study, synthesis and sufficient autonomy to start a Doctoral Thesis, once the training programme is completed.omously
Draw up scientific and technical documents, particularly scientific articles.
Know how to prepare and conduct presentations, before a specialized public, about research or a scientific project.
Ability to plan, design and start up an advanced project.
Search, obtain, process, communicate information and transform it into knowledge
Know the methodological tools needed to develop advanced projects.
Ability to update knowledge exposed in the scientific community.
Transversal competences
Ability to search for, obtain, select, treat, analyze and communicate information using various sources.
Specific competences
Ability to start a Doctoral thesis in the field of Particle Physics and the Cosmos.
Ability to prepare and present the project within the work group for great collaborations in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Learn the techniques of analysis and statistical modeling of data with the ability to interpret results in Particle Physics and the Cosmos.
Ability to handle specific modelling and data analysis software.
Ability to handle the principle operating systems used in the field of science and develop programs in languages aimed at scientific calculus.
Ability to independently face numerical problems, using scientific libraries and developing algorithms.
Ability to autonomously plan and develop computer projects of a scientific/numerical component.
Ability to understand the synergistic role that Astronomy, Cosmology and Particle Physics have when explaining the origin, evolution and composition of the universe, as well as the fundamental physical mechanisms governing them.
Ability to manage instruments and experimental methods used in the field of Particle Physics and the Cosmos.
