A new edition of the Research, Explore And Learn (REAL) Summer Program has started this Monday at the University of Cantabria in the Biotechnology area. This year, seven people, four American and three Spanish students, are joining this introduction to research summer course.

The UC International Relations Area organized an event last Monday to welcome this group together with the newcomer students from the UNC Charlotte University, who are participating in the Summer Program in Business, Banking and Finance.

Both programs are delivered in English and are based on the UC's strong research offering. These undergraduate students will complete their stay taking part in the Spanish Language and Culture Program.

Participants in the REAL Summer Programs have the possibility of undertaking a supervised research project in some of the research institutes of the University of Cantabria, such as the Institute of Biomedicine and Biotechnology of Cantabria (IBBTEC) in this case. Hence, until 24th June, the students will take 52 class hours, and after that, 80 research hours, from the fifth to the eighth week. At the end of this period the young researchers will present their projects in public.
