Pablo Duque Dorado is a Predoctoral Investigator at the Protein Design and Engineering Group (IBBTEC) as well as the Clinical and Translational Research Group in Digestive Diseases (IDIVAL). Having graduated with an Honorific Mention from secondary school in 2019, he acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in 2023 with a semester-long ERASMUS+ stay in Brno, Czech Republic in his curriculum (2022-2023). He then proceeded to study his Master’s Degree in Research in Immunology (2023-2024) at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and developed a 7 month internship as a research assistant at the Cajal Institute (Madrid) after receiving a JAE Intro grant by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), which was performed under the tutoring of Dr. Mª Ángeles Arévalo from the Neuroactive Steroids group; he also carried out his Master’s thesis at this group. Mr. Duque is currently developing his doctoral studies under the guidance of Dr. María Jesús Lucas Gay (Associated Professor at the UC and Principal Investigator of her group at the IBBTEC) and Dr. Marta Alonso Peña (Assistant Professor at the UC and Investigator at her group at the IDIVAL), studying the functional and structural characteristics of genetic variants in liver disease of unknown origin.
