Interplay between structure, dielectric function and amorphous-to-crystalline phase change in Sb2S3

Abstract: Antimony trisulfide, Sb2S3, has been recently proposed as low-loss phase-change material due to its wide band gap value and high refractive index contrast. Nevertheless, optical properties of this material in its amorphous, crystalline, and crystallized phases are still widely scattered. In this work we analyze the interplay between the structure and the dielectric function of this material in its crystalline and amorphous phases as well as its dependence on the crystallization process and its stability when exposed to ambient conditions.
