Chemical Engineer by the Universidad de Cantabria (UC) in 2000, 5th year succeeded at
Rijksuniversiteit Gent (Belgium) through the Erasmus programme. Practical training at Nestlé España S.A. and Professional master in Environmental Management organized by the Official College of Chemists of Cantabria before her incoporation at the Departament of Chemical Engineering at UC, as engineer within a project funded by the Intrministerial Commision of Science and Technology (FEDER 1FD97-1/89) on the development dehydration processes of water/ ketonic mixtures by pervaporation, before the granting of an Early stage researcher grant to carry out the PhD, directed by professors I. Ortiz & A. M. Urtiaga and defended 07/06/2005, with the maximum qualification and European Mention. During PhD, she realised 2 research stays at international reputed centres on the field of membrane technology: 3 months at the Institut Européen des Membranes (Montpellier, France) with Dr. A. Julbe, and 2 months at the Laboratory of Membrane Technology of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Hiroshima (Japan, with professor M. Asaeda. After PhD, she joined immediately the latter as Postdoc research fellow funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to develop ceramic membranes selective for CO2 from other gases at temperatures up to 200ºC (10 months). She came back to Europe as postdoc researcher at the European Membrane Institute of the Universiteit Twente (The Netherlands), with Drs. A. Kemperman & M. Wessling, studying the chemical stability of composite membranes at high temperatures. in 2007, she received a postdoc fellowship "Juan de la Cierva" to return to the Spanish research system, joining the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental
Technologies of the University of Zaragoza (UZ) with prof. J. Coronas, in a new research
line on the development of hybrid polymer-zeolite materials and mixed matrix membranes for molecular separations.
In 2009, she carried out a short postdoctoral stay of 4 months at the Instituto de Tecnología Química UPV-CSIC in Valencia, granted by the Gobernment of Aragón to promote reseachers mobility, to prepare robust membranes based on the pure siliza LTA zeolite ITQ-29, for the separation of hydrocarbons.
In 2012, she joined the DePRO group headed by prof. A. Irabien at the Departament of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering of UC, to develop the line of research "Sustainable Process intensification using membranes" in particular on the synthesis and characterizatoin of new selective membrane materials for the separation, capture and utilisation of CO2 and the selection of membranes for different processes with sustainability criteria.
