RESEARCHER AND R&D MANAGER: Firsts lithium niobate integrated optic devices fabricated in Spain (1988). His work focuses on Optical Fibre Sensor Systems and Instrumentations for Civil Engineering, Construction, Electrical Power Generation, Aero-space, Siderurgy, Automotive, Environmental, Medical and Biomedical, Smart Structure applications. 140 R&D&i projects (+90 on open competitive public and/or private funding calls acting on +90 as manager, coordinator or main researcher). R&D stays at BT Laboratories in Ipswich (1993); ORC, UK (2005) and at the Center for Optoelectronics and Optical Communications, of the NCC, US, (2005).
PAPERS & PATENTS: More than 870 research publications. 591 international including four books, 16 chapters of books, 528 peer reviewed papers (196 in regular journals); 84 invited talks (43 international). 27 patents closely related to optical and fiber techniques for sensors and instrumentations; two in preparation to be filled. An International Patent and an International patent with the Dartmouth College, USA in the field of Cancer detection. The last filled European patent with the SCS for the new optoelectronic device for Braquitearphy. Editor and co-author of four R&D international books. Co-Editor of several conference proceedings and magazines.
