Jesús Ángel Solórzano Telechea is Professor in Medieval History and Research Group Leader GOBPORT at University of Cantabria. (He/ his/ him)
He has a broad interest in Medieval Urban History and he is especially interested in:
- Port societies and Maritime history of the Middle Ages
- Connecting Atlantic Europe in the Middle Ages
- Power, social conflict and communication in the Medieval cities
- Gender History in Medieval Kingdom of Castile.
Currently, he is co-director of the project "Politics, institutions and governance of the port towns and cities of Atlantic Europe in the Late Middle Ages: transnational comparative" (HAR2017-83801-P) funded by Spanish Research Agency.
He has published books and articles on the development of the political culture of the Commons in Northern Iberia, the urban networks of Cantabrian port cities, the social exclusion in the Medieval cities of the Kingdom of Castile... He is currently writing a book on Port and Maritime history in Medieval Europe and the first globalization.
