Elías Revestido Herrero is a lecturer and PhD in the Department of Electronic Technology and Systems Engineering at the University of Cantabria, where he has been teaching since 2003. He completed part of his doctoral training at the ARC Center for Complex Dynamic Systems and Control (CDSC), University of Newcastle (Australia), under the supervision of Dr. Tristan Pérez (two predoctoral stays of 6 and 3 months), and later carried out a postdoctoral stay at City University London (UK).
He has participated in national and international research projects, authored 18 publications in indexed journals, and contributed to more than 50 scientific conferences. His research focuses on system identification and control engineering applied to marine vehicles, including work on remote marine laboratories.
He has served as Secretary of the Spanish chapter of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES), leads the Automation of Maritime Robotics group at the University of Cantabria, is a member of the Spanish Automation Committee, and belongs to the expert project evaluators of the Spanish State Research Agency.
Additionally, he is President of the ARMAR (Automática y Robótica Militar) working group within the Spanish Defense Industry Cluster, where he actively organizes joint technical and scientific events to foster collaboration between academia and industry.
