Free boundary problems for partial differential equations are one of the more challenging problems in Mathematical Analysis. These problems are mathematically challenging and physically interesting. Furthermore, their applications are very spread and range from the study of geothermal reservoirs to tumor growth.
This project is focused in the interaction between Mathematical Analysis and Biology. More precisely, the goal of this project is to study tumor growth.
Tumor growth is a complex phenomenon with several stages and where a huge number of time and space scales play different roles. Due to this, tumor growth must be faced from a multidisciplinar perspective, and, in particular, from a mathematical viewpoint.
