TIG welding machines: a design for multiple two-phase resonant converter modules

Abstract: A new dc and pulsed dc TIG welding power supply has been designed. Power modules connected in parallel with interleaving operation achieve scalable output current with no reduction of the single module performance and limiting the output current ripple. The resonant converter is supplied by an active rectifier from the AC mains with a reduction of mains current peak by five times.
