La interpretación del Concilio de Nicea (325) en la "Historia eclesiástica" de Isaac Newton

Abstract: The ecumenical council of Nicaea (325), perhaps the most important regarding the history of Christian dogmas, provoked great confrontations in Antiquity due to the different interpretations of the term homousios that was approved there, debates that keep going on nowadays. In our article, we offer an interpretation of the synod that we consider of great interest because of the prestige of its author, the renowned English physicist Isaac Newton, a convinced anti-Trinitarian. We base this paper on his theological works written in Latin and published for the first time in 2013 in a critical edition by the Spanish philologist Pablo Toribio Pérez with the title "Historia Ecclesiastica (De origine schismatico Ecclesiae papisticae bicornis)", which constitutes a new contribution to the enormous theological debate generated by the so-called #rst ecumenical council in the history of the Church.
