Pre-processing techniques of thermal sequences applied to online welding monitoring

Abstract: This paper outlines a pre-processing technique to improve the stabilisation and matching results of thermal imaging sequences of online welding monitoring processes, where measurements have been affected by vibrations in the sensor holder structure. For that purpose, the used method, based on point tracking and direct phase substitution, will be described and subsequently tested with two thermogram sequences, one obtained in laboratory and the other one from a welding monitoring process.
