Simulated signal properties for axion minicluster-neutron star encounters

Abstract: Simulated radio signals from encounters between QCD axion miniclusters (AMCs) and neutron stars in the Milky Way.

Each file contains a sample of 10^7 signals. The different columns are: Distance from Earth [pc], Galactic Longitude [deg], Galactic Latitude [deg], Length of encounter [s], Mean Flux [muJy], MC density [Msun/pc^3], MC radius [pc].The file labels "PL" and "NFW" denote the internal density profiles of the AMCs. Files labeled with "unperturbed" neglect the effects of stellar perturbations on the AMC propulation and files labeled with "AScut" include a cut on low-mass AMCs to eliminate problematic AMCs which may be dominated by an axion star (AS).For more details, see the associated paper "Transient Radio Signatures from Neutron Star Encounters with QCD Axion Miniclusters" (Edwards, Kavanagh, Visinelli & Weniger, 2020)
