Climate and Agriculture Risk Visualization and Assessment (CAVA) is a climate service that democratizes the access to state-of-the-art datasets (observations and models) which allow for analyzing the past and future climate from an agronomical perspective. The whole framework, which has been developed through a collaboration between the University of Cantabria, FAO and Predictia, is composed by CAVA Platform and CAVA Analytics.
CAVA Platform is a user-friendly online portal that allows for visualizing a number of pre-computed climatic and agroclimatic indicators. Additionally, users can receive comprehensive reports that summarize the agroclimatology tailored to their specific regions of interest via email. These reports offer ready-to-use figures, insightful explanations, and trend analyses of observed and projected climate conditions. This flexible Graphic User Interface (GUI) facilitates informed decision-making.
For advanced users seeking in-depth analysis capabilities, the R package CAVAanalytics provides harmonized access to all the data CAVA Platform builds on (plus additional ones), allowing thus for customized analyses. CAVAanalytics can be used in any local machine, via a dedicated Hub instance developed and maintained by the University of Cantabria, or deployed at any server through a ready-to-use Docker image.
