Abstract: We present an X-ray spectroscopic study of optically selected (SDSS) Seyfert 2 (Sy2) galaxies. The goal is to study the obscuration of Sy2 galaxies beyond the local universe, using good quality X-ray spectra in combination with high S/N optical spectra for their robust classification. We analyzed all available XMM-Newton archival observations of narrow emission line galaxies that meet the above criteria in the redshift range 0.05 Other publications of the same journal or congress with authors from the University of Cantabria Peculiar emission line spectra of core extremely red BOSS quasars at z ~2-3: Orientation and/or evolution? - Article Planck pre-launch status: calibration of the Low Frequency Instrument flight model radiometers - Article Gaia Early Data Release 3 : the Galactic anticentre - Article Gaia Early Data Release 3: acceleration of the Solar System from Gaia astrometry - Article Gaia Early Data Release 3: summary of the contents and survey properties - Article Gaia Early Data Release 3: the Gaia Catalogue of Nearby Stars - Article Gaia Early Data Release 3: structure and properties of the Magellanic Clouds - Article A search for X-ray absorbed sources in the 3XMM catalogue using photometric redshifts and Bayesian spectral fits - Article Resolving the inner accretion flow towards the central supermassive black hole in SDSS J1339+1310 - Article Fast simulations of extragalactic microlensing - Article Planck 2018 results: III.
