Jesús Ángel Solórzano Telechea is Full Professor of Medieval History at the University of Cantabria and Research Group Leader of GOBPORT. His work focuses on Medieval Port Societies, Maritime Connectivity, Urban Conflict and Communication, Gender History, and Naval Warfare in the Atlantic World.
He has directed numerous national research projects funded by the Spanish State Research Agency and participated in several European research projects on medieval urban history. He has supervised eleven PhD dissertations and collaborates regularly with international research centers and networks. He is currently completing a monograph on medieval port and maritime history.
