Alberto Arroyo was graduated as Industrial Engineer in 2006. In 2012 he received the PhD in Industrial Engineering at University of Cantabria (UC), focused on the analysis and optimization of small wind turbines.

He has been working in the the Advanced Electro-Energetic Technologies Group (GTEA) since 2009, becoming Associate Professor in 2012. His main research lines are simulation of electric systems and grid integration of renewable energies.

Since 2020 he is the Head of the Department of Electrical and Energy Engineering at the University of Cantabria (UC).
