| ELECTROMET Project Meeting | | ELECTROMET Project Meeting |

Dr. Guillermo Díaz Sainz recently participated in the technical meeting of the project “Direct CO₂ ELECTROcatalysis for Renewable METhane Production (ELECTROMET)", held in person on March 4th, 2026, at FEUP - Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto in Portugal. He attended the meeting as the coordinator from the University of Cantabria within the ELECTROMET consortium. The project is funded by a European grant under the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership Programme).

The ELECTROMET project is coordinated by CTC - Centro Tecnológico de Cantabria (Spain) and developed in collaboration with University of Porto (Portugal), Politecnico di Torino (Italy), the University of Cantabria (Spain), Hidritec (Spain), Dreven (Greece), and Ecodualba (Spain). The consortium also includes two key stakeholders: Envitec (Germany) and Nortegas (Spain).

Within this project, the University of Cantabria leads one of the work packages. The main objective of ELECTROMET is to develop a sustainable, safe, and cost-effective solution for the production of renewable methane from carbon dioxide (CO₂) through direct electroreduction, enabling its integration as a renewable fuel into the gas market and contributing to the decarbonization of the energy sector.

| 2026-03-05T23:00:00Z | | 2077 | | |
